Customization

FDR is configured to build on your existing conventions, data structures, workflow and requirements, while enforcing your existing framework.

Unlike other document management products, FDR offers the flexibility and configurability to handle nearly all of our customers' needs without customization. However, FDR does offer customization services for those who require more. Each custom request is discussed, outlined in a specification, priced and documented for your approval before any work commences.

Furthermore, regardless of the complexity of the customizations, our customers will still have access to new versions of our products as they are released. Standard product upgrades can be applied to live installations regardless of customizations they may contain. This is an important consideration as it ensures that after investing in having a system customized to meet your specific requirements, you are not left behind as technology moves forward.

Application Integration

Another level of customization involves importing and exporting of data and special applet creation for entering relevant specification type data. Data Migration Service are provided on an as-needed basis.

Data / Document Conversion

We completely acknowledge and understand that you already have existing valuable data and documents that you want to retain and access whenever needed. Therefore we implement a two stage approach to data and document conversion. We utilize state of the art software in conjunction with skilled data conversion experts to review and move your data into FDR. We work with you to:

• Supply a detailed account of the information to be converted
• Formulate a registry of information required to be downloaded from other systems and how.
• Establish appropriate method(s) of conversion and migration of data into the databases relational table structure. See Application Integration for additional information

The actual conversion does not occur until you approve the conversion plan. Then a timeline and a conversion date are established. When finished, the repository will contain your data, documents and be ready for immediate use.

Hosting

SymCon provided data hosting services. We keep your FDR application and the database current and updated with the latest version of all software. You can choose from on-site or hosted solution. The database can be installed on your site/equipment or hosted remotely.

Project Information / Document Management

Drawings and documents are loaded one time. FDR allows for any 1 document to be linked to any number of items or areas; Project Management in peticular. Project data (names, numbers) is also associated to the newly linked file. These files can be searched for using search engine.

Technical Support

We understand that technical support is an important part of any successful maintenance management operation. Our support personnel are experienced and certified in using our FDR product. We provide toll-free telephone, fax, and email support through our Support Department.

Training

SymCon provides training designed to fit your needs. Our project manager will work with you to develop a robust training program or revise an existing plan. Our training includes on-site training, video conference training or a combination. Follow-up training is always available as well.
